I’m not sure what has led you here today, but I know that it is not by chance or a coincidence, because I know that God doesn’t make a mistake. I am overjoyed that you are seeking a breakthrough in your life, business or ministry but if you are, it means that something (or someone) has broken you down. How do I know? Because…
I’ve Been Broken Too!
In 2016, God placed a calling on my life and in 2017 I set-up my Entrepreneurial Ministry to bridge the gap between faith and business, to educate, empower and equip churches and other Christian entrepreneurs. Bit-by-bit I built the Clue Business Group brand and kept the ministry afloat by consulting for hospitality companies and training at my local church while sourcing funding for my first project.
But in late 2017, it all fell apart!
The pressures of being a single parent, self-funding the business and being a full-time student, took its toll on my wellbeing, my finances, my mental health and I started to feel like a complete failure. On the outside I looked fine, I walked fine, talked fine and I smiled fine, but on the inside, I was broken.
I found ways to ‘cope’ with the pain, the shame and disdain by engaging in ‘worthy’ distractions. My ‘business hustle’ was a #distraction, spending ‘quality time’ with friends a #distraction my ‘I need a break’ holidays were a #distraction, which I focused my time and energy on instead of dealing with the issue at hand – my brokenness.
How Did I Get Here?
This is not where I expected I would be, hoped I’d be or ever dreamed I’d be, so why am I here I asked?
Why am I stuck in a rut on this hamster wheel of existence?
Then God presented me with the most significant challenge of my life. A challenge that would make me confront every skeleton, demon and the dreaded hamster wheel that I had been on for so long.
First, it was the breakdown in bonds that I held dear to me. Then it was the threat of being evicted from my home. After that followed depression and anxiety. One after another the challenges kept coming.
But throughout it all God kept whispering in my ear ‘you are on the precipice of greatness.’
What’s The Real Problem?
Greatness? There was nothing great about my situation. But I held on to that statement and reminded myself that ‘All things come together for the good of those who love the Lord and are called according to his purpose’ (Romans 8:28).
And, as I started to examine my problems, it dawned on me, that history was repeating itself and the issues I was facing weren’t new; I suddenly realized:
It’s not the issue that’s the problem it’s how you’ve handled the problem that’s the issue!
I knew instinctively that this is what God wanted me to learn. But to break free, completely free, absolutely free and become who God expected and wanted me to be, I was going to have to do things, well, differently.
From Breakdown To Breakthrough
So, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery. I got to know God and myself, my true authentic self and instead of painting over the cracks, I confronted my ‘issues’ head-on, took ownership and accountability for my actions then created and followed these 5 steps.
- Get Right With God
- Strategize Your Life
- Strategize Your Growth
- Strategize Your Finances
- Strategize Your Business
Eventually, without even realizing it I had broken through my breakdown and become a more beautiful, powerful, authentic version of me.
My breakthrough has me kicking a#! And taking names in my personal life and my businesses. It has given me the confidence to confront my fears and shatter barriers. It has helped me to achieve balance, peace and my definition of success.
Now, I’m finally living, instead of just existing.
Are You Ready For A Breakthrough?
I don’t know what you’re going through, but I promise you God wants to give you a breakthrough. Your trials your tribulations, your tears and your fears can be turned into a powerful resource if you don’t let them cripple you.
You can adopt a success and growth mindset.
You can learn the skills you need to excel in life, business or ministry.
You can develop self-confidence and become a leader.
How do I know? Because I believe you can do ALL things through Christ who gives you strength (Philippians 4:13). But you must be willing to do things differently, be ready for change and willing to put in the hard work.
I pray that you will keep pushing forward, looking upward and searching inward as you begin healing from the past, seeking happiness in the present and hope in the future so you can start living the life you have always dreamed of.
Blessings & Success,
